Orchard Hand -CHB Apples

We are on the hunt for a permanent Orchard Hand to join our team in Ongaonga, Central Hawke’s Bay. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors in a beautiful apple orchard, alongside a supportive team, carrying out a variety of hands-on tasks. You will gain valuable experience in a rewarding environment, with training to set you up for success from day one.

What you'll need:

• Willingness to get “stuck into” any task given, performing it safely, efficiently, and to a quality standard


• An enthusiastic, hardworking attitude and a willingness to learn


• Excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work with people from different cultures and backgrounds (great people skills)


• Punctual, reliable, and possesses reliable transport and a valid driver's license


• Comfortable with physical work, working outdoors, and working in variable weather conditions


• Flexibility to work extended hours when required


• Tech-literate, with the ability to use iPads / tablets


• A good understanding of, and commitment to, health and safety in the workplace


• Ideally, a basic knowledge of pesticides, fertilisers, and irrigation systems

Preferred Qualifications (Desirable):

• GrowSafe certificate


• Forklift license


• Horticulture qualifications
