About this role

Make you mark and showcase your talents in this newly created Project Manager role!

You will work with a small, dedicated team of professionals making a perceptible difference to improving access and quality to the City's Parks, Reserves and Open Spaces. Hutt City like many other Councils is experiencing growth and is leading the pack in housing densification as it seeks to accommodate the many individuals and families moving here. It is therefore vitally important that its public open space is both high-quality and user friendly.

The successful applicant for this role will be able to have a very real opportunity, with a fully funded Reserves Investment Strategy, to make a significant difference to the lives, and lived experience of the Hutt Community. If you are driven by a desire to improve the lives of ordinary people, this could well be the role for you.

About You

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Proven experience in leadership and project management
  • Outstanding relationship building and interpersonal skills
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of effective programme, project and change management strategies

The following is advantages though not essential:

  • Experience in local government
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. MPM, Prince 2, Portfolio and Programme Management qualifications)
  • Strong awareness of the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi
