We are currently seeking an experienced Career Advisor with an exceptional understanding of careers and pathways to join our vibrant Pathways Team. 

At Rototuna Senior High School we have a strong focus on providing our young people with relevant career and pathways guidance as well as STP, Gateway and STAR opportunities. We are a busy and growing school, catering for ākonga in Years 11 to 13. 

You will be driven by the desire to advise our ākonga in their pathway to find personal, academic and vocational success, in ways that enhance their dignity, purpose and options. You will be an expert Career Advisor, able to demonstrate recent success in your work.

Key Skills and Qualifications

• The ability to communicate effectively with ākonga and a passion for working with youth, whānau and community is essential
• Significant previous experience in careers advisory work and/or other work preparedness vocations is vital
• A relevant careers qualification and/or previous careers experience in a secondary or tertiary environment is desirable
• Excellent all round computer skills, including experience with KAMAR, MOE databases and Google Apps for Education is an advantage
• A commitment to working collaboratively and a demonstrated ability to contribute strongly to a busy team
• Ability to work within and promote the school’s culture and values
• A full, clean NZ Driver Licence.

The hours of work are 40 per week, term time only, plus some extra weeks to be worked during term breaks.

Remuneration will be based on the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement dependent upon skills and experience. Start date is negotiable.
