Job Description - Payroll Associate

Position:  Payroll Associate

Datacom Location:  Wellington

Security Requirements: Citizens and Residents of NZ only.

Full Time, Permanent Position.

About the Role (Your Why)  

The Payroll Associate is responsible for supporting the timely and accurate delivery of the payroll function.

 

What You’ll Do   

  • Process payroll for Datacom employees on the agreed basis, accurately and within a timely manner.
  • Update payroll information.
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and managing enquiries.
  • Being actively involved in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives.
  • Support with the preparation of standard and ad hoc reports.
  • Resolve payment errors in a timely manner.
  • Provide accurate and timely advice to management and staff, and are kept up to date with legislation, policy and system changes.
  • Help support the identification of process improvements, needs and priorities.

 

What You’ll Bring  

  • Understanding of relevant legislation and if applicable, award expectations, associated taxation and superannuation legislation compliance requirements and conditions of employment.
  • Understanding of the core principles of payroll end-to-end processes.
  • Understanding of company business requirements. Knowledge of various payroll software/methodologies.
  • 2+ years of payroll experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in effectively administering payroll.
  • Strong numeracy skills and an impeccable attention to detail.
  • Effective presentation skills with the ability to convey information across various levels.
  • Intermediate to advanced excel skills.
