Job Description - People and Culture Manager

An exciting opportunity has become available for a People and Culture professional looking to that next step in their career!

We’re looking for a passionate P&C expert to join our management team here at The Hotel Britomart. You will thrive on immersing yourself in the brand, hotel and all areas of employee relations and be proud to be part of The Hotel Britomart team.

Reporting to the General Manager you will be the Lead for all P&C Operations at The Hotel including recruitment, L&D, ER, H&S, wellbeing, benefits, team engagement and sustainability. You will ensure P&C processes are effectively managed, and that the business is provided with the appropriate support and strategic direction. This role is based at The Hotel Britomart in the heart of downtown Auckland.

As our current P&C Manager will be transitioning out over an extended period, this role will begin mid-August.

About you:

  • A proven performance record with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role. Preferably within the hospitality sector.
  • You must have excellent written and verbal communication.
  • You will be a natural networker, building relationships will be a passion as will be ensuring 100% delivery to our team members and guests alike.
  • The tenacity to thrive in a fast-paced performance driven environment – you not only meet performance targets, but you exceed them with passion.
  • Exemplary presentation skills, be able to converse with key stakeholders across the business.
  • You hold a positive mindset and are a creative thinker.You are a focused professional and self-motivated marketer.
  • Fantastic problem-solving skills – you must be prepared to take each day as it comes and bring a growth mindset to everything you do.
  • A willingness to develop and create a thriving team member environment/culture.

Your Skills & Experience:

  • Strong self-management and personal autonomy.
  • Knowledge of employment legislation and best practice.
  • Experience implementing people related tools and processes in a high growth organisation.
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Proven ability to develop company culture.
  • Flexible, hands-on approach.
  • Proven L&D experience and confident facilitator.
  • Experience dealing with key stakeholders such as owners etc.
  • People management and strategic planning experience desirable.
  • Experience as part of a senior leadership team.
  • Ability to identify training needs, to develop and deliver effective training.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen, with proven ability to lead and deliver transformational change.
  • Proven ability to develop people strategy and translate into operational plans.
  • Strong developed coaching capability and facilitation experience.
  • Proven experience leading a medium sized team through both direct and indirect relationships.
  • True generalist experience across all areas of P&C.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree (HR management, or related discipline).
