We have an exciting opportunity to join VinLink Marlborough as our full-time Assistant Accountant, reporting to VinLink’s Finance Manager, working in a satisfying, fun and dynamic industry. Who are we? 

VinLink is a large, growing winery located in the Riverlands Industrial Estate just 10 minutes from the centre of Blenheim. Our winery has been specifically designed and built for Marlborough’s signature grape, Sauvignon Blanc, and crushes around 25,000 tonnes each year.  It’s an exciting time to be joining us as we have big plans on the horizon as part of our continuous growth and we are looking for the right candidate to help us achieve our goals.

We are looking for a candidate with the following attributes:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred, or possess a relevant qualification in accounting or a relevant field.
• 2 years + experience in a finance role.
• Knowledge of the wine industry would be an advantage.
• Be an effective communicator, self-motivated and have a great work ethic.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritise and work to deadlines.
• Analytical with strong problem-solving skills.
• Xero and intermediate to advanced Microsoft skills.
• Have a positive attitude and hands-on approach to deal with anything that comes your way.
• Great sense of humour is a must!

Duties and responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and annual financial statements for management and statutory purposes.
• Assisting with the year end audit process.
• Group consolidated accounting support.
• General ledger reconciliation including maintaining the fixed asset register, stock on hand reconciliation.
• Ensure correct coding of all expenses and revenue lines.
• Process all recurring and standard journals accurately.
• Tax Compliance – Filing monthly GST returns & FBT return.
• Daily bank reconciliations and credit card reconciliations.
