PHSYIOTHERAPY ASSISTANT 

Fixed-term - 6 months

Pacific Coast Village is known for unprecedented resort-style facilities rarely seen in New Zealand. The Pacific Coast Care Centre - Te Manaaki is a continuation of this considered design. Crafted to provide residents with a sense of luxury and security in their latter years. 

The Care Centre is a modern facility with 57 highly appointed care suites over two levels, offering rest home, hospital, rest home and dementia level of care. Te Manaaki extended living spaces and amenity are substantial and have been carefully curated to present as highly residential, providing residents with choice of environment and a sense of home. ​ ​ 

Like other Generus Living care centres, Te Manaaki places a significant emphasis on personalised care, where residents will take the lead in their own lifestyle and be supported by a collaborative approach between our clinical staff and family. It is recognised that this extra time, effort and energy to adopt and engage in this model of care delivers significant outcomes, enhancing the daily life of both our residents and team.

We are seeking a passionate Physiotherapist Assistant to join our innovative team—an individual who is aligned with our vision of personalized and tailored nursing care. In this role you will work closely with the physiotherapist, the wider care team, residents and their families to encourage and support the residents wellbeing and assist with the delivery of physiotherapy programme and services.

Key Role Details & Requirements 

  • This is a fixed-term role [min 32 to max 40 hours per week]
  • Ability to work on a rostered and permanent shift basis
  • Medi-Map and HCSL care planning solution experience - advantageous
  • Previous experience with physiotherapy
  • NZ residency or a valid work visa.

The Successful Candidate will have 

  • Passion for caring for older people
  • Experience with implementing exercises and rehabilitation programs
  • Experience in activities coordination in residential care
  • Outstanding communication skills
  • The ability to support residents and understand and execute mobility care plans with the resident and their families.
  • The ability to motivate others
  • The ability to work independently
  • The ability to provide compassionate and high-quality care
