Heritage New Zealand Pouhere Taonga is this country'sleadagency forthe identification, protection, preservation and conservation ofourhistorical andcultural heritage.There isa vacancy for an experiencedresource management plannerfor Otago and Southland based in the Otago/Southland Areaoffice inDunedin. Some travel within these areas will berequired.

This position provides a real opportunity to make a major contribution as part of the HNZPT Southern Region team in promoting the protection and conservation of New Zealand's important heritage places. Your expertise, personality and creativity will complement the committed multidisciplinary team of specialists in our central city office.

The position involves a wide range of diverse activities including proactive engagement with regulators and property owners to develop strategies, policies, plans and consenting processes to recognise and provide for the retention and ongoing use of historic heritage. It also involves resource management planning support for HNZPT's nationally significant heritage properties throughout the South Island. Candidates also need a willingness to be mentored, to foster relationships and negotiate outcomes with stakeholders.

A tertiary qualification inresource management planningor related fieldand relevant experienceis required. Please note that emerging professionals with an interest in developing skills and experience in heritage will be considered for this role.
