Plant Engineer - Reliability Leader - Hiring Immediately

This role will align well for experienced maintenance and plant engineers with a strong reliability focus on both plant & utilities area. Our client, Fresh Meats NZ is a part of the Integrated Foods Group, a well-established vertically integrated agribusiness with large scale farms in Gisborne and Lamb processing facilities in Napier. This hands-on engineering leadership role will ensure the site and facility is optimised from an engineering perspective, and that the production teams have the plant and the machinery performing at the level they need to ensure efficient manufacturing every day.
  
Reporting to a recently appointed GM who is determined to advance the reliability of the plant and the processing performance. You will be responsible for the engineering management, maintenance, servicing and general upkeep of the plant and operational equipment at their Napier lamb processing site. This will see you sitting across day-to-day maintenance engineering issues, defect elimination, planned maintenance, risk management and life cycle asset management.  In addition to hands-on engineering, you will also enjoy getting involved in the progressive maintenance deployment, planning and contract management, working with a small engineering team and engaging with external contractors.
  
We need someone who is comfortable with developing and maintaining a fit for purpose preventative maintenance plan to ensure this plant hums. There are some important plant improvements in the pipeline that you will be steering and an interesting mix of assets for you to sit across.
  
To be successful here, you will have five or more years’ experience in the reliability & TPM space preferably with hands-on fitter-turner expertise. An exposure to electrical engineering will be of great benefit also. You will need to have a relevant trade engineering certification and have experience in an automated production or manufacturing field, ideally in the food industry. An exposure to refrigeration, boilers, electrical and pneumatic systems will be important here. Along with all of this, we need someone who is hungry to learn, has a continuous improvement mindset and a positive attitude in order to ensure proactive management of the plant and its machinery.
