Our team is growing and we’re on the hunt for a superstar Senior Public Relations and Social Media Account Manager to join our communications team. 

As a PR & Social Senior Account Manager, you are responsible for supporting Lassoo’s Senior team in managing the day to day running of the PR team, the content it delivers, ensuring brand messages are consistent, timely and relevant. You are also required to lead and strengthen relationships both internally and externally. 

We are a locally owned communications agency that is committed to making it easier for our clients. Based in Auckland CBD, we recently adopted a 4 day working week (Mon-Thurs). 

Responsibilities include: 

On a day-to-day basis, alongside the Senior team and wider team, you will be working on:

PR:

  • Develop communications plans including strategy, goals, tactics and budgets to align with the clients' key business objectives. You will ensure brand consistency across earned, paid and owned media
  • Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media
  • Manage media inquiries (and interview requests)
  • Create content for press releases, by-line articles, editorial giveaways, blogs, website and social media dialogue
  • Organise and coordinate events and activations
  • Conceive of and set up brand partnerships for relevant clients, from conception of opportunity to negotiating outcomes and deliverables
  • Monitor, analyse and communicate PR results (daily/weekly/monthly/bi­ monthly/quarterly/annually)

Social media:

  • Develop social media strategies including goals, tactics and budgets to align with the clients' key business objectives
  • Execute organic social media campaigns across a number of platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn
  • Manage social media activities including - content generation, copy writing and community management
  • Daily accountability in ensuring social media posts on behalf of clients are made and optimised
  • Monitor, optimise, and report on social media campaigns (daily/weekly/monthly)
  • Build relationships with content creators and influencers to create measurable content.
  • Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy, as well as best practices for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.
  • Responsible for Lassoo’s website and social media channels including the development of an annual strategy, content creation and posting of content.

General Deliverables: 

  • Write and produce brainstorm briefings, contact and sentiment tracking reports, post analysis documents and presentations
  • Evaluate opportunities for sponsorships and advertising on an ongoing basis
  • Build relationships with thought leaders, influencers and key media to grow industry awareness
  • Establish professional relationships with colleagues, clients, suppliers, creative, media, stakeholders, etc.
  • Keep track of impending deadlines and ensure all work is completed in a timely manner
  • Actively participate in new business development including proposal writing, and look to identify new business opportunities
  • Maintain agreed client activity and budgets and alert ELT to any budget overspend/underspend
  • Ensure work is completed on time and within budget, ensuring accurate invoicing is done for clients
  • Delegate and supervise all junior team members’ activity and workload effectively
  • Attend relevant industry events to grow knowledge and network – creating new business opportunities for Lassoo

Team Leadership

  • Support and advocate for a high-performing team across the agency
  • Coach, mentor, and develop team members, providing regular constructive feedback and setting clear expectation for day-to-day outputs
  • Provide junior team members with learning opportunities through delegation to support operational excellence
  • Input into performance reviews in collaboration with the Senior Team

External Relationship Management

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with media and journalists and prioritise regularly meetings with media
  • Represent Lassoo at client and media owner functions
