Practice Manager

Are you a dynamic leader passionate about improving mental health? We are looking for an experienced Practice Manager to join our growing team.  

About the role: 

As our Practice Manager, you will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring smooth daily operations and high-quality care. This hands-on role involves close collaboration with funders and compliance with health sector standards.

• Proven staff management experience. 
• Calm demeanour under pressure. 
• Proven strong work ethic. 
• Adept at the skill of multitasking. 
• Ability to connect with people and swiftly assess, organise, and implement effective work practices. 

Requirements: 

• Experience in the not-for-profit sector or managing start-ups. 
• Strong relationship-building skills. 
• Excellent interpersonal skills across all levels. 
• Full-time availability to work in central Wellington (WFH is not on offer) 
• Extensive experience in health/social sector management would be advantageous.

About us: 

Whakamātūtū provides a holistic six-week day programme that integrates Sir Mason Durie’s Te Whare Tapa Whā model, psychodynamic group therapy, and the therapeutic community treatment model. Combining these models while all staff and tāngata whai ora (people seeking wellness) work together aims to help Tāngata whai ora achieve their treatment goals, improve their well-being and quality of life, and build meaningful recoveries.    

Our multidisciplinary programme, based on a holistic approach, is centred on group therapy. It incorporates a range of modalities, from individual therapy, Rongoā Māori, art therapy, and music therapy to mind-body therapies, social work support, and medical care.
