Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for a seasoned Principal Adviser to join our team. In this influential role, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality, timely, and consistent ministerial advice, correspondence, and official information responses.
You’ll be a key driver of strategic thinking and continuous improvement, guiding complex work programmes and mentoring others to lift performance. As a trusted adviser to senior leaders, you’ll also play a vital role in cross-agency collaboration and embedding best practice across the system.
To be considered for this position, you must be a current New Zealand Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a NZ Government National Security Clearance – at Confidential level. You’re an experienced professional with a strong track record in ministerial servicing, executive support, or public sector policy. You bring political nous, sound judgement, and a calm, solutions-focused approach to complex and sensitive issues.
