Services include investigations and pre-development advice, consenting, options assessment, full design services, project management, construction observation and contract management.

The team is growing and has a reputation for technical excellence and quality across the country. With a proud history of partnering with their clients to deliver creative and commercially sound engineering resolutions across New Zealand, they are now looking to appoint a Senior Hydraulic Modeller to their Christchurch team. You will need to have a background of working in the NZ market in a similar senior level position.
  
The company has a strong environmental focus and will offer you the chance to work on a diverse range of projects. You will need to have strong modelling skills and a history of working in flood management within NZ.  You will be providing technical input and guidance to the team and developing solutions for a range of environmental projects throughout the country. Experience in river engineering and 3 waters engineering with a focus on stormwater management would be highly considered. Additionally, the role will encompass managing a small team of talented and ambitious engineers.
  
Experience needed:

• A Chartered Professional Engineer (or close) with a Civil or Natural Resources degree (though an equivalent tertiary qualification will be considered).
• More than 7 years’ experience in flood assessments, hydrology and hydraulic modelling in New Zealand
• Competent modeller with an ability to develop and review complex hydraulic models
• Skills using or interpreting results with software such as InfoWorks ICM, MIKE DHI, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, TUFLOW and GIS.
• Ability to produce information and reports for flood risk assessments
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations on water resources management and flood risk assessment
• Leadership skills as will managing a small team and leading projects across the wider business
• Persuasive communication skills and be client focused with the ability to identify new business opportunities.
