Procurement Specialist - Generous Compensation

New Zealand Window Shades is the NZ market leader in custom made interior and exterior window coverings and exterior shades. Our brands are channels are Luxaflex and Weathermaster. 

This is a key role in our East Tamaki based manufacturing plant and will be responsible for ensuring our procurement decisions align with our strategic objectives.  

About the role

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Collaboration with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements and develop strategic sourcing strategies.
• Develop and implement procurement policies and procedures to optimise purchasing activities and achieve cost savings.
• Analysing statistical reports related to stock balances, shortages, etc.
• Developing and implementing innovative strategies to standardize and improve processes.
• Implement tools and processes to effectively manage inventory levels, finding / maintaining the balance between optimal freight, reducing inventory levels whilst ensuring enough stock to avoid stock outs.
• Proactively looking for opportunities to drive efficiencies, cost savings and improvements.
• Be part of a strong supply chain team, building processes to support future business needs.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• Demonstrated experience in procurement, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide analytical insights.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.
• Experience with and commitment to continuous improvement and quality standards.
• Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Dynamics (D365) CRM system.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Operations Management, Business Administration)
• Knowledge of window coverings industry (preferred) or similar custom-made manufacturing business
