JOB TITLE 

Production Manager 

PURPOSE 

• To manage the daily production shift, ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the daily production schedule, the production team and delivery of scheduled production DIFOT – while meeting all food safety and health and safety requirements. 

SPECIFIC DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES 

Production

Ensure daily operational metrics are meet including:

• Maintaining a positive working culture, through leadership and example.
• Ensuring full daily crewing to support the production schedule
• Managing, mentoring, and coaching Production Assistants.
• Liaising with other departments to ensure a smooth flow of operations.
• Being responsible for the training of new production staff. 
• Evaluating performance and providing feedback for staff during reviews. 
• Ensuring quality of products by monitoring process compliance.
• Managing workflow and applying a continuous improvement approach to your production area. 
• Overseeing and ensuring the quality and consistency of all products. 
• Making recommendations for improvement to operational and production flows. 

Health and Safety

• Ensure compliance to Health & Safety at Work Act 2015.
• Commitment to paperwork and safety documentation – complete hazard identification reports and identify controls to be put in place, accident reports etc.
• Ensure appropriate signage in place, documentation completed, PPE gear being worn.
• Site safety checks to be completed and documented as required on contracts and at appropriate times on all other sites. 
• Contribute to a positive culture regarding Health and Safety.

Food Safety (with Site Food Safety Manager)

• Ensure compliance to all local and international food safety standards – FSANZ and GFSI (SQF Standards).
• Commitment to paperwork and food safety documentation – complete all daily quality checks and paperwork to ensure 100% compliance.
• Contribute to a positive culture regarding Food Safety.

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION 

• Minimum of 2 yrs experience working at a production manager level or similar supervisory role
• Tertiary qualification preferred.
• Excellent people management and development skills.
• Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
• Good planning and problem solving skills and ability to priorities and manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written. Previous experience with logistics/supply chain management.
• Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
