Our Timaru team are looking for a dynamic and experienced Production Manager to lead our team, drive accountability and oversee our production operations. 

As the Production Manager, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and leading the Production department, responsible for the medium and long term strategic direction and plant daily operations. Your leadership will ensure that production schedules are met, and products are manufactured within quality standards and budget constraints. You will possess strong leadership skills, drive accountability and have a commitment to continuous improvement.

 

About the role

• Leadership & Team Management : Lead, mentor, and develop the production team. Foster a positive and collaborative culture of accountability and high performance.
• Safety & Compliance : Ensure all activities comply with safety regulations and company policies. Promote a culture of safety within the team.
• Budget Management : Prepare and manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions and resource allocation.
• Production Scheduling : Plan and coordinate production schedules and activities to meet business needs
• Continuous Improvement : Implement, drive and sustain continuous improvement initiatives
• People Development: Train, mentor and evaluate team members to foster professional growth and accountability

About you

• Proven experience in a Manufacturing Leadership role 
• Demonstrated knowledge of Manufacturing processes
• Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop team members
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues
• Demonstrated ability to organise own workload, prioritise outputs and work within time constraints
• Able to lead, coach and develop the team to meet or exceed KPI’s
• Ability to manage budgets and financial aspects of the production department
