Our kaupapa is to work together for the benefit of others with compassion and generosity. A core effort within this is to improve the condition of housing and the education around healthy housing so whānau can thrive in warmer, drier and healthier homes.  We do this through relationships with referrers and whānau, education and workshops, in home assessments, advocacy and repairs and maintenance. 

Our office is in Tauranga, which is where this position will be located. This will be a full-time role. Great news, we are in the process of moving to a 4-day week.  

The core focus of the position will be receiving referrals to our healthy housing programme and communicating with whānau as well as building relationships with referring agencies. The role is data intensive, to ensure a positive experience for whānau and consists of a blend of data entry, phone and email contact. Another component is organising a range of digital, social and printed media communication activity, on behalf of the organisation.  

We are looking for someone with communication and data management experience. Full programme training will be given. Essential traits for this position are compassion, empathy and kindness. This role, at its heart is a relational one and would suit someone who cares about the wellbeing of people and their whare.

The essential skills needed mean that you’ll...

  • Have superb communication skills, on the phone and in written form, this role is about connecting with people, you’ll need to build trust quickly.
  • Be enthusiastic about and have capacity for external communications: digital, social and printed media. 
  • Be organised with your time and accurate with data capture. 
  • Be confident and competent with administrative work and data capture systems. 
  • Take initiative, be able to self-manage, follow through and help without being prompted. 
  • Have the ability to plan ahead, you’ll be ok when unexpected things happen.
