Job Description


WT New Zealand is growing its Wellington project management capability, creating an opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join our team and help deliver high-quality outcomes for clients across the lower North Island.


We are looking for a confident, delivery-focused Project Manager with approximately 5-7 years of relevant experience. You will ideally bring a background in health and/or infrastructure projects, with local or regional council experience highly regarded.



Working within our client-side project management team, you will take ownership of small to medium projects and contribute to larger, complex programmes. With support, you will manage scope, programme, budget, risk, quality and stakeholder relationships, collaborating with clients, consultants, contractors and community-facing stakeholders.



This role is responsible for:



  • Project Initiation

  • Feasibility and Briefing

  • Fees & Proposals for Professional Services

  • Consultant Appointments

  • Design, Cost Planning & Risk Management

  • Contractor Procurement

  • Programming

  • Construction Control & Monitoring

  • Project Completion & Handover

  • Defects Liability Period

  • Draft report writing

  • Relationship Management - Internal & External



Qualifications



  • Approximately 5 - 7 years of relevant project management experience in the construction, property or infrastructure sectors

  • Demonstrated experience delivering health and/or infrastructure projects; vertical and horizontal project exposure is advantageous

  • Experience working with a local or regional council, council-controlled organisation or other public-sector client is highly regarded

  • A relevant tertiary qualification, ideally Building Science, Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering

  • Sound understanding of the project lifecycle, procurement, consultant coordination, contract administration, risk and reporting

  • Experience in a client-side consultancy or client organisation is preferred

  • Proficiency with project management and common data environment tools

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, sound commercial judgement and the confidence to engage with diverse stakeholders

  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage competing priorities
