Mō te tūranga | About the role
We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver a strategic project that will modernise our digital platforms, including a website replacement – helping us drive investment in conservation, and deliver accurate information, accessible services and create seamless customer interactions. You’ll provide vendor management, collaborate with multiple stakeholders and manage several workstreams, and deliver digital solutions and operational improvements within scope, on time and within budget.
You’ll be part of a team that’s passionate about conservation and making a difference for Aotearoa. This is a 12-month fixed term role.
The position will be focused on:
Project Leadership; Manage the delivery within scope, time, and budget, coordinate multiple workstreams (including discovery, content, design/user experience, functional development and testing, migration and deployment), manage dependencies and ensure alignment with other key initiatives across the organisation
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration; work closely with the web team, vendor, internal stakeholders and leaders to make sure solutions meet requirements, facilitate workshops and provide clear and timely communications
Planning & Execution; Develop and maintain project plans, budgets, and risk registers, guide and monitor progress through the various workstreams, manage risks and dependencies, and resolve issues proactively
Governance & Reporting; Provide regular status reports to governance groups and senior leadership, ensure compliance with organisational standards and frameworks
Change Management; Support adoption of new systems and processes through effective communication and training strategies.

If you have some of following, we are keen to hear from you:
Proven experience managing large-scale, multi-workstream projects involving multiple stakeholders and complex technical integrations
Strong knowledge of digital solution delivery (preferred)
Excellent vendor, relationship management and communication skills
Collaborative, with a solutions-focused, user-centric mindset
Detail-oriented with excellent planning and scheduling skills
Familiarity with Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
Excellent documentation skills and ability to manage budgets, risks, and resources effectively
Experience in public sector or operational environments (preferred)
Qualifications in project management, business, technology, or related fields or demonstrated equivalent experience in project delivery roles.
Desirable:
Project management certifications (PMP, PRINCE2, AgilePM)
Familiarity with modern website technologies and content management systems (CMS).

The salary range for this position is $96,185 - $137,000 with the starting salary of the successful applicant based on their relevant skills and experience but negotiable and can be discussed.
You are encouraged to discuss secondment opportunities with your manager. Secondments should offer the opportunity to build capability in line with your development plan.
Eligibility to work in New Zealand is mandatory – this includes holding a valid work visa that covers the whole period of employment.
