The Company This arts focused charitable trust is excited to be establishing a new business unit with a unique purpose to create places for pause and reflection that will be supported to last, improve, and evolve over 1,000 years. Each project is designed to encourage people to reflect on their connection to the chosen location, its history, and its future. Combining artistic creativity with practical use, they create areas that are both attractive and functional and that highlight places of historical, cultural, or personal significance.
The Role In this role, you will own the end-to-end process of multiple small projects (<$50,000) simultaneously, which will involve conceptualising, designing, consulting, engaging stakeholders, installing, activating, and post installation maintenance. You will be based in Central Auckland with a common expectation to be in the office.
Key responsibilities include; - Project Management: Oversee all projects, ensuring timely completion, within scope, and budget
- Relationship Focus: Cooperate successfully with multiple different parties, including but not limited to local government, community groups, private families, and Iwi to identify and create access agreements
- Team Contribution: Offer precise and prompt support to management and the contractor team, aiding in the feasibility and successful implementation of concepts
- Community Engagement: Bringing a friendly and warm approach, respecting and integrating Tikanga Māori throughout the execution
- Quality Assurance: Guarantee that all projects meet the expected high-quality standard, conducting routine quality control inspections post installation.
About You - Minimum 5 years of hands on experience implementing projects - you need to be able to design and run the process
- Strong background in local government, place-based community work, consents, or land use
- Experience in fabrication, engineering, construction, and logistics
- Proven ability to oversee scope, budgeting, and timelines effectively
- Proficiency in relationship building, influencing, and negotiating
- Able to work in a small team, this is an “all hands on deck” team and environment
- Possess some degree of an arts background or a genuine interest in art and design.
