We’re looking for a compassionate and skilled Psychologists to join our dynamic team and help make a real difference in the lives of our clients.


 


 


Employment type: Ongoing or Temporary, Full-time or Part-time (job share considered)


Salary: 



  • Psychologist: $79,592 - $118,316 pa

  • Specialist Psychologist: $114,016 - $139,824 pa

  • Plus environmental allowance, employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading


 


Join the team at either:


 


Wellington Correctional Centre:  a large Correctional Centre housing maximum, medium and minimum security sentenced and unsentenced, male and female inmates in traditional accommodation. 


 


Macquarie Correctional Centre: a dormitory-style prison that houses maximum-security sentenced and unsentenced male inmates and is located adjacent to the Wellington Correctional Centre. 


 


The work of Psychologists at both Wellington and Macquarie Correctional Centre’s is challenging and varied, with no two days being the same. At both centres the staff culture is positive, and all disciplines are committed to inmate rehabilitation and well-being.


 


This is an opportunity to deliver meaningful psychological services in a dynamic and diverse correctional environment, supported by a team that values collaboration, professional development and evidence-based care.


 


What you’ll do


 


As a Psychologist or Specialist Psychologist, you will:


 



  • Conduct psychological assessments and criminogenic risk evaluations

  • Collaborate on behaviour management and case plans within a therapeutic community

  • Provide expert consultation to staff on complex mental health and risk matters

  • Prepare reports for key authorities (e.g., SPA, MHRT, SORC)

  • Maintain records using the Offender Integrated Management System (OIMS)


 


What we’re looking for


 



  •    Experience or strong interest in forensic or correctional psychology

  •    Ability to work with clients with complex needs in a structured, therapeutic setting

  •    Confident group facilitation and risk assessment skills

  •     A collaborative, resilient, and ethical approach to service delivery


 


Essential Requirements


 





    • Minimum four-year accredited qualification in psychology

    • Current full AHPRA registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.
