Qualified Vet Nurse

Henderson Veterinary Clinic is a well-established clinic with a lovely loyal client base. Very recently under new private family ownership and undergoing rapid transformation. We are currently implementing Ezyvet software system alongside installation of an Idexx inhouse laboratory including Procyte, Catalyst and Sedivue. IM3 dental suite and digital x-ray to follow in the next couple of months, then a new sterile surgery suite by the end of our first year. The building is also undergoing a significant tidy up. 

The clinic has a long history of supporting the combination of conventional medicine with alternative therapies. Previous experience is not essential, an open mind is more important. 

We are after a superstar vet nurse to come on full time and assist our lovely and very capable head nurse who has singlehandedly run the clinic on her own for the last 4 years . . . its time she had some help! 

We are looking for a candidate with an appropriate vet nursing qualification and a can-do attitude. Understanding the importance of being a team player is essential. At this stage the role will mostly involve supporting the vets with consults and reception duties.  As we become procedure ready, the right candidate will be confident monitoring anesthetics and managing surgical patients to a high standard of care. The lead vet is more than happy to hand over care to nurses who prove themselves capable of blood drawers, IV catheter placement, scale and polish procedures and nurse consults. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are a must, as is time management and personal responsibility. Someone who is tech savvy would be a bonus as we introduce a myriad of new equipment over the next year and attempt to integrate the software. 

Remuneration will be based on experience, be above average, minimum would be living wage ($27.80 p/h), annual CPD allowance/ CPD leave will be included.
