The Position:

The position will be based at our new and exciting Maersk Coolstore, located strategically at the Ruakura Superhub in land port, this position offers a rare opportunity to support and stand up a new team in a cutting edge environmentally friendly Greenstar rated facility servicing New Zealand’s primary industry sector.

The role will be leading and implementing effective systems and processes to support the operational team to meet their legislative requirements as well as Maersk overarching Quality and Compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Makes high-level independent judgments, using guidanceonlyin complex situations.
  • Develops relationships with senior management to act as a change agent to support, development & improvement in Quality and Compliance
  • Creatively performs a range of highly complex Compliance and Quality activities and leads on formulation, implementation and evaluation of Compliance and Quality strategy, often working with diverse cultures and changing business environments.
  • Understands the wider organisational and business environment and the impact on management of Quality and Compliance, as well as the interdependency of Quality and Compliance and the operations.
  • Use mentoringskills to develop Quality and Compliance capability of site operational personnel.
  • Prepares reports, interprets and tailors information to communicate knowledge and ideas to workplace, professional and regulatory audiences using appropriate communication strategies and formats.
  • Identifies and analyses complex Quality and Compliance problems to generate innovative, practical andevidence informed solutions, while taking into account legislation and industry standards and the organisational environment.
  • Prioritise proposed solutions while taking into account Quality and Compliance principles as well as organizational, legal, industry and other relevant factors.
  • Applies problem-solving techniques to develop an integrated approach for HSSE, Quality and related management issues.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Work autonomously under pressure in fast paced environment
  • Understandingof advanced technical concepts and knowledge with Customs Bond licensing & HACCP, (DG’s. optional)
  • Cognitive and technical skills to access, analyse and evaluate information to think critically,
  • Generate and evaluate complex ideas and inform Quality and Compliance strategy and practice.
  • Problem solving and organisational skills
  • Communication and engagement skills, including negotiation and conflict management skills
