Quality Assurance (QA) Coordinator - 12-month Fixed-Term

We’re looking for a QA Coordinator on a fixed-term basis for 12-months to cover parental leave.  In this role you will be responsible for undertaking assurance activities that support the effective operation of the integrated quality and environmental management systems including its food safety elements.

Ultimately this role supports Cloudy Bay’s aim of meeting the needs and requirements of its customers’ and fulfilling our compliance obligations. Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager and working closely with the Production Operations Team these activities include process measuring, monitoring, inspection and auditing, reporting continuous improvement efforts and supporting line positions where required.

You will be responsible for:

• Committing to the core beliefs and values of our Company: actively engaging and participating with company health, safety and well-being initiatives and encouraging involvement of all stakeholders.
• Conducting incoming dry goods checks
• Carrying out routine line quality control checks as required, recording results and validating operator checks
• Checking line optimization and providing feedback to operators and the Production Supervisor
• Assisting in the implementation and management of Good Manufacturing Process and Food Safety systems including sign off of glass breakage incidents
• Carrying out laboratory analysis and quality control checks
• Continually assessing routine processes and procedures to identify risks and opportunities for improvement and working with team to update and improve quality procedures.
• Reporting data entry and presenting reports in a clear and timely manner
• Assisting winery laboratory or other winery functions through the Vintage period as required

Your hours will be 40 hours over any five days of the week, but there may be additional hours (including during weekends and on statutory and other holidays).

• Secondary school education NCEA Level 2 or higher preferred
• Experience in a bottling or manufacturing environment
• Experience in laboratories preferred, but not essential
• Experience with quality management systems and with auditing will be an advantage
• Strong verbal and written communication and reporting skills
• Attention to detail, process and risk orientated thinking
• Problem solving, priority setting and continuous improvement skills
• Ability to have your own views and to take appropriate decisions
• Drive for results and self-motivated attitude

• An hourly rate of $26–$32 (depending on experience)
