Quality Control and Quality Assurance support 

We are looking for a motivated person to join our tight-knit, hard-working team in our small, but dynamic, food-manufacturing business, located in Manukau, Auckland. We require a person who has previous laboratory or quality control / quality assurance experiences and who can assist with our current manufacturing and documentation workload. This is a full-time, permanent position with a competitive salary. This is a great opportunity for a new graduate or someone wishing to further their career in the quality sector within Dairy manufacturing, which continues to be a leading primary industry in NZ and has endless career opportunities. Our usual operating hours are Mon-Fri 7:30am to 4pm, and sometimes operate double shifts during weekdays and in the weekend depending on production requirements. 

To be considered for this role you should have most of these attributes: 

• A bachelor’s degree in science - preferably in food science, chemistry or microbiology. 
• Preferably at least 1 year of laboratory or food manufacturing experience.
• Be completely proficient in English including writing documents/reports. 
• Have an understanding of the following:
  • Regulatory and Food Safety Standards.
  • OMAR requirements.
  • Laboratory testing.
  • Documentation preparation.
  • Report writing. 
• Be highly organized and have a strong attention to detail.
• Be strong willed and able to make tough decisions.
• Be honest and able to report mistakes (your own or others’) immediately. 
• Excellent written (email) and verbal (phone or in person) communication skills.
• Willing to take on wide range of rolls / tasks associated with the business, including:
  • Working evening shifts on occasion to carry-out the QC checks. 
  • Working outside of standard hours to ensure samples or document submissions are taken / submitted on time.
  • Help the production team on the line which may include carrying out physical tasks (for short periods of time). 
  • Able to carry bags up to 25 kg (for sampling) and be physically fit.
