Quality Controller

We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Controller to join the Yieldia team based in Paengaroa in the beautiful Bay of Plenty (just 15 mins drive from Te Puke and Papamoa). Reporting to the Site Quality and Compliance Manager you will be part of a small, but seriously committed and passionate team who form an integral part of the overall Operations function.

The Site Quality and Compliance Manager is on a mission to continue to drive process improvement and strive for compliance, quality and food safety excellence. We are proud of our efforts to date and are making great progress towards this. This is your opportunity to roll up your sleeves, bring your knowledge and experience and be part of our future. This is a full time position with hours of work being 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday with the occasional Saturday work. 

A few of the key responsibilities of the role include:

• Implementing and promoting site quality systems for both the packhouse and processing areas.
• Collaborating with packhouse and processing teams to identify and address quality issues promptly.
• Implementing corrective and preventative actions to address non-conformances.
• Undertaking quality inspections as per our protocols.
• Assisting in the preparation and execution of internal and external audits, in addition to building quality relationships with our audit partners.
• Inspecting the facilities to ensure a high level of cleanliness is maintained in order to meet and exceed food safety requirements.
• Preparing reports, compiling and maintaining records on product quality status and inspections that have been conducted.
• Actively contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and drive operational efficiency.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• A great team spirit.
• Previous experience in a quality assurance role in food production/manufacturing (for export would be even better!)
• Excellent attention to detail, high quality standards and excellent numerical skills.
• Great interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Competent in interpreting data.
• Computer literate and can learn new systems.
• Ability to work additional hours during peak season.
