Quantity Surveyor

Location : Canterbury

Job type : Full time – 30 hours Minimum per week

Duration : Permanent

Pay Bracket: Minimum $29.70 per hour, and the employer is willing to go up to $32.00 per hour, based on work experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
•   Conduct feasibility studies to assess the viability of potential projects.
• Analyse and evaluate contractor bids and proposals.
• Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, contractors, and suppliers.
• Monitor project progress and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Identify and mitigate potential risks and issues that may arise during construction.
• Prepare and submit progress reports to clients and stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions and documentation related to the project.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to optimize project outcomes.

Preferred Attributes:

•         3 years of relevant experience and / or qualification preferred.
•           Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
•           Knowledge of the safety regulations and industry preferred
•           Great communication skills and positive attitude
•           Knowledge of construction methods, materials and techniques preferred.
•           Flexible to work some weekends and public holidays, depending on the appointments and tasks on hand.
