About the Role

Franklin Urgent Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our experienced and supportive clinical team.

As a trusted healthcare provider for the Franklin community, our Urgent Care service delivers timely, high-quality care to patients requiring immediate attention, while also supporting ongoing health needs. Working alongside Urgent Care Physicians, General Practitioners, Nurses, and other healthcare professionals, you will provide safe, evidence-based, patient-centred care to individuals and whānau presenting with a wide range of acute and urgent healthcare needs. What You Will Do

As a key member of the clinical team, you will:

  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and provide safe, effective clinical care.
  • Support patients presenting with acute illnesses, injuries, and urgent healthcare needs.
  • Deliver evidence-based, culturally safe, and patient-centred nursing interventions.
  • Undertake clinical procedures including wound care, immunisations, IV cannulation, and other nursing treatments within your scope of practice.
  • Provide health education and support patients to understand and manage their health.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture focused on quality, safety, and continuous improvement.

What You Will Bring

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a current Annual Practising Certificate.
  • Previous experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Department, Acute Care, or a busy Primary Care environment.
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centred care.
  • Confidence using clinical systems and maintaining accurate patient records.
  • Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand.

The following would be advantageous:

  • Wound care and casting experience.
  • Vaccinator certification.
  • IV cannulation skills.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and an understanding of culturally safe healthcare practices.
