Nau mai, haere mai ki Te Whatu Ora - Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District Location: Wellington Regional Hospital Service: Te Mahoe Unit, Women - s Clinics Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (0.6 FTE) Salary: $86,519 to $106,739 pro rata, depending on experience Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role We are seeking a Registered Nurse to work 0.6 FTE in our Day Unit.We are the Regional Termination of Pregnancy Unit opened 4 days a week providing abortion services.We are also the Day Unit for Women - s Clinics, and you would be required to care for women undergoing minor Gynaecological procedures.Duties: * Registered Nurses (RNs) in our unit work with women requesting abortions.As such, duties include supporting women through this process, pre op, intra op, and post op.This occurs in our procedure room and main theatres.* RNs provide care for women undergoing 1st trimester medical abortion.Nurses give advice over the phone, via text and email advice to women who choose to go home.* RNs also care for women experiencing a labour process if her pregnancy is late in the second trimester.* RNs working in Te Mahoe are non-judgmental and pro-choice.Professional supervision is given on a monthly basis as a group, and it is expected that all RNs participate in this.* RNs provide education to women regarding their choice of contraception prior to discharge.* RNs working in this unit are also expected to work over the Women - s Clinics floor assisting in Gynaecology Clinics, Colposcopy and Acute Assessment - under supervision and after training is completed in these roles.Moū - About you Skills & Experience: RNs working for Te Mahoe Unit should have a minimum of 2 years nursing experience in New Zealand.Current New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate.Registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand (NCNZ).Must have an interest in Women - s Reproductive Health and will be given training on working within the current law.RNs will be encouraged to join APGANZ (Abortion Providers Group Aotearoa New Zealand) and the Women - s Health College NZNO so they can remain current in all research and opinions in this field.It is preferable that RNs working in this unit are certified in IV cannulation and must be able to administer IV sedation and opioid pain relief.Post op recovery skills, PACU, ICU, or surgical nursing experience is an advantage.RNs must have the ability to work within a small multi-disciplinary team and an even smaller nursing/midwifery team.Be flexible and adapt to changing work patterns depending on patient - s needs.RNs may be asked to hold the on-call phone after hours and Saturdays but only when feeling confident in doing so.E pā ana ki a tatou - About us Here at Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District we embrace diversity and welcome applications from all people, including all gender identities, ages, ethnicities, sexual orientations, disability and religions.A workforce that is diverse and inclusive means that we are better positioned to understand and serve our community.Capital, Coast & Hutt Valley District are pro-equity health organisation, with a particular focus on Māori, Pacific Peoples, and the Disability Community.To find out more about us click on the following links: Capital and Coast Hutt Valley Mental Health, Addiction and Intellectual Disability Service Me pēhea te tuku tono - How to apply Click the apply now button to send your application directly to us.For further information on this role please email ****** and indicate the job title and vacancy number (NM152-24) in the subject line.Ma tini, ma mano, ka rapa te whai By joining together we will succeed
