We are delighted to be partnering with Corcoran French, a valued and long-standing member of the Canterbury and West Coast legal community, as we undertake a search for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel to join their Family team.


With a history stretching back 125 years and a current headcount of 75, Corcoran French is a high performing firm operating out of the Christchurch CBD, with additional offices in Kaiapoi and Greymouth. The Role


Our client is undergoing a period of succession planning combined with a huge pipeline of work:

• Their Christchurch-based family team works across a broad range of family law work including contracting out agreements, separations, dissolution, family violence, adoption, care of children and protection of property rights
• Work with existing clients, nurturing and growing those relationships, whilst also developing your own sources of referrals
• Opportunity to lead a team of five whilst working under a highly experienced Partner.

About You


In order to succeed in this role, you will be/have:

• This role would ideally be suited to someone making a lateral move across to Senior Associate / Special Counsel, or an individual who is seeking a slight step up
• Substantial background in relationship property matters including contracting out and separation agreements
• A team-oriented approach to working, as well as a genuine desire to gain ownership over their work amongst a busy and collaborative team environment. You will have an approachable, empathetic approach to your communication and an excellent record for building long-term relationships and strong mentoring and team development skills.
