About the role | Mō te tūranga mahi

We're looking for a talented Reporting Analyst and Senior Reporting Analyst to join our Health Analytics Team within the Analytics & Reporting function at ACC.

 

  • Senior Reporting Analyst – permanent opportunity

  • Senior Reporting Analyst – fixed-term through to August 2027

  • Reporting Analyst – fixed-term through to June 2027

These roles work closely with business stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting, analytics, insights and advice that support evidence-based decision making and improved business performance. 

The Health Analytics Team partners with customers across ACC to transform complex data into meaningful insights. Through collaboration, we help improve business understanding, identify opportunities, monitor performance and support positive outcomes for our clients. We usually work with System Commissioning and Performance, with a focus on Health Services, Health Partnerships, and contract/service monitoring.

There are two fixed-term opportunities and one permanent opportunity, within the Health Analytics team, can based in Wellington/ Hamilton/ Dunedin locations.

You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and analytical models using SQL, Snowflake, dbt, Python, Git and Power BI

  • Develop, maintain and enhance reporting products, dashboards and self-service analytical solutions.

  • Analyse and interpret data from multiple sources to deliver actionable insights and support decision-making.

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver effective data solutions.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement across reporting, analytics and data practices.

As a Senior Reporting Analyst, you'll also: 

  • Lead the delivery of data solutions, automation initiatives and complex analytical projects while driving best practice.

  • Provide strategic insights and expert analytical advice to support business outcomes.

  • Coach and mentor team members, helping to build capability and share knowledge across the team.

About you | Mōu

We're interested in hearing from candidates who are curious, analytical, and passionate about turning data into meaningful insights.

You'll bring:

  • Experience engaging with stakeholders to understand business needs and reporting requirements.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.

  • Strong SQL and Power BI skills, with experience in Snowflake, dbt, Python and Git advantageous.

  • Experience developing reports, dashboards and self-service analytical solutions, with strong data visualisation and storytelling skills.

  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and translate data into actionable insights.

  • A proactive approach to continuous improvement and identifying opportunities to enhance data practices.

  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Statistics, Data Analytics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Commerce or a related discipline.

For Reporting Analyst applicants

You will typically have:

  • 2+ years' relevant experience in and analytical role.

For Senior Reporting Analyst applicants

You will typically have:

  • 5+ years’ relevant analytical experience.

  • Experience leading analytical projects, with strong stakeholder management and influencing skills

  • Experience coaching, mentoring or providing analytical leadership.

  • Advanced coding capability and experience with data engineering practices considered advantageous

The appointing salary for the Analyst role will sit between $90,039 - $100,043 and Senior Analyst between $101,287 - $119,161 we offer an additional 9% superannuation contribution. This position may be appointed at either Reporting Analyst or Senior Reporting Analyst level, depending on the successful candidate's skills, experience and demonstrated capability.
