Job Description - Research Assistant

Established in 2020 through the merger of Auckland Clinical Studies (ACS) and Christchurch Clinical Studies Trust (CCST), NZCR is at the forefront of early-phase clinical research in New Zealand. The Role

You will be part of a fun, hardworking team who assist our busy Study Coordinators in the planning, coordination and administration of clinical trials at NZCR. 

Key tasks of this appealing and busy role include:

  • Assist Study Coordinators in overseeing the planning, scheduling, and carrying out of day-to-day activities and procedures, ensuring timely and efficient workflow.
  • Assist in the recruitment of study participants (phone screening) and manage participants during the screening process (this may require weekend attendance at the unit).
  • Support the study coordinator with CRA requests and administrative tasks such as filing and database updates.
  • Assist with data entry and query resolution as required.

This role is busy, working with a supportive, high performing team and requires you to organise, prioritise and manage your workload on a day basis to basis. You will be a superstar at multi-tasking, have excellent communication skills and advanced computer skills (Microsoft 365 and excel). We pride ourselves on the quality of our data and research so meticulous attention to detail is essential.

This is an entry level position that is ideal for a science graduate (Pharmacology or similar) interested in working in clinical research. 

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have: 

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in a science discipline. (Pharmacology or similar preferred)
  • Work experience that shows requirement for attention to detail and scientific understanding.
  • Highly literate and numerate, with good attention to detail
  • A good telephone manner is essential.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Good organisational skills – able to work to timeframes and deadlines.
