Chapman Tripp has one of the best law firm libraries in New Zealand, and a team of knowledgeable and enthusiastic legal information experts. We have a rare opportunity to join the firm as our new Research Librarian supporting the legal teams and Partners.
You will be part of our wider Knowledge team based in Wellington, where we are doing exciting things in the information and knowledge management space, including the use of AI in the firm.
Key responsibilities will include:
Undertaking legal research on behalf of legal teams
Training on best practice in information tools and other legal tech
Delivering current awareness and news, keeping teams up to date
Supporting knowledge and document practices
Identifying opportunities for streamlining current processes and testing new products
Skills, abilities and experience required:
Tertiary qualification to degree level plus a relevant library qualification
Law librarianship/legal research skills, preferably at least three years
Sound knowledge of legal research tools
Understanding of AI as it relates to legal information, including experience using AI in a library and legal setting
Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
Organisational and prioritisation skills
Strong critical thinking skills and curiosity
Collaborative with high-self motivation
