About this role

This is a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact on the environment and the Lower Hutt Community. You will:

  • Lead and manage the Resource Recovery Team programme to deliver high quality strategic planning and policy advice
  • Project plan and deliver actions identified in the Council's Waste Management and Minimisation Plan
  • Provide advice to Council on waste minimisation and resource recovery matters and opportunities
  • Champion behaviour change towards a more circular economy
  • Lead and support the development of business cases for resource recovery initiatives.

About you

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Proven experience in leadership
  • A relevant tertiary qualification
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy and planning
  • An ability to analyse and develop insights from research
  • Excellent project management skills

The following is advantages though not essential:

  • Experience in local government
  • Knowledge of solid waste management technologies
