Job Description - Restaurant Manager

An exciting opportunity have been created for an experienced Restaurant Manager to work in a new restaurant situated in a Hotel in Auckland CBD. This mixed-use 273 bed hotel is unlike any other, featuring a private bar exclusive for guests, a restaurant, a luxury spa, winter garden, co-working spaces and so much more. Immerse yourself in a new style of Hotel for Auckland.

As the Restaurant Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the food and beverage department, including restaurant, rooftop bar, and room service operations. It will be essential that you create a memorable dining experience for our guests by maintaining high standards of service, quality that capstone hotels are know for.

Responsibilities

  • Outstanding leadership skills, previous experience managing a team, recruiting, rostering, training and supervising staff along with HR experience in all aspects.
  • Lead and motivate a diverse team of professionals, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging personal growth and development.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and update innovative and seasonal menus that cater to diverse guest preferences.
  • Manage food and beverage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimize profitability.
  • Ensure that monthly financials for F&B are on target and accurate, reporting directly to the General Manager. 
  • Develop and implement effective operational policies and procedures to ensure seamless guest experiences.
  • Maximising yield and revenue through innovative sales practices. 
  • Excellent, high quality customer service, ensuring positive guest experiences.
  • Handling complaints and overseeing the service recovery procedures. 
  • Ensure exceptionally high and consistent standards are met with in the department.
  • To hold regular briefings and meetings with the team.
  • Understanding of current Health & Safety obligations, ensuring the Hotel is fully compliant to the SOP's, Policies, procedures and service standards. 

Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of hotel operations.
  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading and developing teams, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth, manage budgets, and achieve financial targets.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
