Retail Assistant - Generous Compensation

We have multiple opportunities in our existing Paper Plus Store and our exciting new Toyworld store.

Paper Plus Rotorua Central has a vacancy for a Retail Assistant to join our busy team which is experiencing growth after recent investments in the business.  Our primary business is the sale of books, stationery, gifts, toys, magazines and cards.  We also operate lotto, New Zealand Post, and Kiwibank agencies.  We are looking for someone who enjoys challenges and will work across all of the functions in the store.  

Toyworld is a nationally recognized brand “where the best toys come from”, and it is making a return to Rotorua after an absence of about 12 years.  Our new store will be at 1271 Tutanekai Street and is planned to open on 1 August 2024, however the team will start in mid July to ensure the store is ready for opening day.  We are looking for full time roles to work either Tuesday to Saturday or Sunday to Thursday.  We are also looking for Part Time roles to work either Friday and Saturday or Sunday and Monday.  For the right person a part time role of Friday to Monday will also be considered.

We are also seeking casual team members who will work across both stores to cover periods of both planned and unplanned absences as well as peek demand particularly over the Christmas / New Year retail seasons.

The ideal candidates will have previous retail experience, however first and foremost work ethic and attitude towards the job is the most vital component with other skills being able to be taught on the job.

You must be able to work to tight timelines, show strong attention to detail and be willing to work as part of a team committed to excellence in customer service.
