Ready to influence retail performance across one of New Zealand's largest retail networks?
We're seeking an experienced Retail Loss Prevention Lead to lead the strategy, systems and initiatives that protect Farmlands' assets, profitability and people across our nationwide network of more than 80 stores. Reporting to the Head of Retail Sales, you'll be accountable for loss prevention outcomes across Farmlands' retail network, partnering with leaders throughout the business to reduce shrinkage, strengthen controls and improve operational performance. With visibility across more than 80 stores from Northland to Southland, you'll influence operational performance and risk outcomes at a national level.
This is a highly influential role sitting at the intersection of retail operations, investigations, audit, risk and commercial performance. You'll work closely with Retail Managers, Branch Managers, Internal Audit, People & Safety and external agencies across New Zealand to identify emerging risks, investigate complex loss events and implement practical solutions that improve profitability and operational excellence.
You'll be trusted to challenge existing practices, influence decision-making and provide expert guidance across the retail network.
Key responsibilities include:
Delivering measurable reductions in shrinkage, fraud and stock loss across Farmlands' nationwide retail network
Leading investigations into significant loss events and identifying root causes, trends and opportunities for improvement
Using BI reporting, exception reporting and operational data to identify risk and drive preventative action
Influencing retail leaders to strengthen controls, improve stock integrity and maintain security standards
Leading operational audits, stocktake reviews and investigation activity across the business
Leading engagement with law enforcement and external agencies to support investigations and achieve outcomes
Driving improvements to policies, processes, training and loss prevention programmes
As Farmlands' subject matter expert in loss prevention, you'll help shape the systems, processes and behaviours that protect our co-operative and improve retail performance nationwide.

You're an experienced loss prevention, retail risk, audit or investigations professional with a proven track record of influencing change across large, multi-site operations. Commercially astute and highly analytical, you understand how strong controls, operational discipline and stakeholder engagement combine to reduce risk and improve performance.
You'll ideally bring:
Experience in a senior loss prevention, retail operations, audit, investigations or risk-focused role
A strong understanding of retail operations, stock control and loss prevention principles
Proven experience investigating loss, fraud, stock variances or operational risks
Strong commercial and financial acumen
Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and reporting capabilities
The ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels of the business
Advanced Excel and business reporting skills
High levels of integrity, resilience and professional judgement
Experience within a multi-site retail environment will be highly regarded. Experience in the rural or agricultural sector is advantageous but not essential.
