Job Description - Roading Divisional Manager & Roading Contract Manager

The Company Our client is an established NZ Civil construction company based in the Waikato. They strive to provide the highest quality of work to their clients and the community.

 

The Role We are recruiting for an experienced Roading Divisional Manager  & Roading contract manager to join the team.

 

ROADING DIVISIONAL MANAGER  

The successful applicant will oversee the daily operations of the roading division, manage staff, project compliance, financial performance, and meeting project timeframes within budget.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage road construction projects until completed.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the team.
  • Develop project plans, schedules and budgets including resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress against goals and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance including industry standards and company policies.
  • Promote the current work culture of safety, quality and excellence within the team.

Ideal candidate will need the following:

  • A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a relevant industry qualification
  • Proven experience in road construction and management
  • Strong knowledge of road construction methods including materials and specifications
  • The ability to multi-task and confidently manage multiple projects at the same time.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong focus on Health and Safety
  • Clear criminal record

ROADING CONTRACT MANAGER 

The successful applicant will oversee the daily operations of all activities on project sites.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of contract management including scopes of work.
  • Compliance for all contractual obligations
  • Maintain relationships with clients and sub-contractors.
  • Manage and monitor project progress, budgets, and timelines.
  • Provide technical expertise and guidance to project teams.
  • Day to day operation of all activities on site
  • Promote the current culture of safety and team work

 

Ideal candidate will need the following:

  • Contract management experience within the civil or construction industry
  • A degree in civil engineering is desired but not essential.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and people skills
  • Attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Have strong leadership and willing to develop this skill on a daily basis
  • Eager to deliver results and to meet project deadlines
  • Clear criminal record
