The Oceania Football Confederation seeks a Safeguarding & Wellbeing Manager in Auckland, New Zealand.

The Oceania Football Confederation (OFC) is the umbrella organisation for national football associations across Oceania, actively engaged in promoting football as a tool for social development. Committed to leaving a positive impact in the communities we serve; OFC delivers award-winning Sport for Development Programs that utilise football to enhance lives across the Pacific region.

Join us as our OFC Safeguarding & Wellbeing Manager! Use your expertise in safeguarding and mental health to ensure safety and foster growth in our sport community.

About the Role

As the Safeguarding & Wellbeing Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing safeguarding frameworks and interventions to embed wellbeing within player development models.
  • Managing the delivery of OFC's Safeguarding Implementation Plan and promoting a culture of safeguarding in football.
  • Supporting the delivery of safeguarding at OFC competitions and managing the Oceania Region Safeguarding Working Group.
  • Advocating for safeguarding and wellbeing initiatives within the football community.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, and sports organizations.
  • Reporting on program performance and contributing to monitoring and evaluation efforts.

About you

  • 2-5 years' experience managing programs to promote wellbeing and ensure safeguarding and child protection.
  • Proven expertise in developing and managing safeguarding systems, with experience in case management and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Experience in the counselling or mental health sector is advantageous.
  • Strong operational planning, strategic planning, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-cultural environment and excellent relationship management skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English, with experience in report preparation.
