About the role

As a Safety, Risk and Compliance Coordinator, you will be responsible for ensuring all safety, risk and compliance activities meet CAR 139, Work Safe NZ legislation, Place of First Arrival (POFA) and BWOF requirements and obligations on behalf of Auckland Airport. This role is a generalist compliance role which requires broad understanding of a wide range of safety and compliance risk management, security, biosecurity and other regulatory compliance. 

Your key responsibilities are:

• Ensure all incidents and near misses are investigated, corrected and closed out appropriately on risk manager. 
• Coordinate audit activities, checks and education/awareness with regards to safety, risk and compliance. 
• Participate in Auckland Airport Compliance Assurance Programmes.
• Contribute to the reviewing and auditing of relevant manuals including for example Airport Workers Rules, Biosecurity Manuals.
• Contribute to the wider business risk, knowledge management and assurance projects as required. 

What you’ll bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a safety, compliance, or regulatory role within an airport or similar high-regulatory environment.
• Generalist-level working knowledge of all regulatory requirements.
• Excellent relationship-building skills with stakeholders from all walks of life.
• Strong planning and organisational skills, including the ability to juggle conflicting priorities and deliver high quality outcomes in a busy, constantly changing environment.
• Sound business writing and verbal communication skills including well-developed presentation skills, with a bias to transparency and collaboration.
• Sound knowledge of software suites and systems. Specifically experience with Risk Manager, Litmos, Coupa and A+ will be highly valued.
• Strong analytical skills to assess compliance issues and identify effective solutions.
