Job Description - Sales Coordinator

We are a family-owned food manufacturing company producing chilled and frozen potato chips based in South Canterbury. We have forged a reputation for product excellence, sustainability and staff that are ready to go the extra mile. Our goal is not to be the “biggest” but, simply, to be the “best”!

We are looking for a self-motivated Sales Coordinator to establish and nurture relationships with our Otago and Southland based customers. This includes direct sales to restaurants and takeaways along with the local food service sector. Supporting our brand development and promotion are also a part of this role.

Car, phone & Laptop supplied by employer.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Understand the breakdown of direct purchasing customers including restaurants and takeaways to increase local sales.
  • Identifying local customers to nurture for direct sales. This includes establishing and maintaining up to date data bases.
  • Visiting and maintaining sales relationships with current and potential direct customers.
  • Setting and achieving sales targets for direct sales in the Otago and Southland regions.
  • Work with food service agencies and clients who sue our products to understand current and future trends that will enable more sales through these channels.
  • Prepare for and attend agreed food service trade shows in the lower South Island to promote our products and nurture sales channels.
  • Work within agreed parameters for price and margins when negotiating sales.

Specific Skills and Knowledge Required

  • Strong communication skills and customer service skills
  • Computer literacy on MSW and Excel, Zoom, Adobe, etc
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • At least five years’ experience in sales roles
  • A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. commerce, marketing) would be desirable.
  • Chinese language skills, Cantonese and or Mandarin, would be an advantage.
