About our hotel

Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland, comprising of 191 rooms, is one of Auckland’s newest Hotels. We are part of the Grand Hotels International group with hotels located throughout New Zealand, Australia, Malaysia, and Singapore. Grand Hotels International is known for quality accommodation, exceptional service, convenient locations and outstanding conference and meeting facilities.

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Sales Executive to join the Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland pre-opening team as soon as possible. Hotel Grand Chancellor Auckland is scheduled to open in August 2024.

This role is responsible for supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing and the wider Sales & Marketing team. This role assists with sales for all New Zealand properties, overseeing small to medium inbound and corporate accounts. The role will also assist with all internal food and beverage marketing promotions. This includes promoting 191 guest rooms, one restaurant and bar and two conference rooms.

As the Sales Executive you will provide sales support in a timely manner and within the parameters of the hotel’s budget. The Sales Executive works closely with the Director of Sales and Marketing to achieve hotel and departmental budgets, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness with all aspects of the Sales Department. The Sales Executive will ensure elevated levels of guest satisfaction, and compliance in all aspects of sales policies and procedures.

This position requires a collaborator with an abundance of energy, passion, and strong relationship skills. Previous extensive experience in hotel sales is advantageous.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a Sales Executive role
  • Previous hotel experience with Inbound and Corporate sales is highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of current trends in the industry and an understanding of the Auckland hotel market is desirable.
  • Proven sales experience and ability to achieve sales targets.
  • Ability to build strong long-term relationships.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Previous experience with building and developing interdepartmental relationships.
  • Effective time management and organisational skills with the ability to multitask.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Adaptable and initiative-taking ability to confidently respond to a range of different work situations.
  • A positive can-do attitude with customer service at the heart of what you do

 

The position will include, but is not limited to:

  • Ensure the highest standards of sales service is maintained.
  • Supporting and overseeing small to medium accounts to ensure their requirements are being met and current rates are in place.
  • Populate & Submit RFP forms or client templates.
  • Accurately prepare & distribute Inbound contracts to operators, answer any hotel related questions and action any required follow-up.
  • Conduct hotel inspections, entertain prospective and current clients.
  • Ensure all sales enquiries are followed up quickly and efficiently in consultation with the wider sales team.
  • Assist with month end reporting and administration.
  • Ensure sales policies, procedures and standards pertaining to sales are complied with and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Keep CRM updated and current with sales calls and opportunities in line with group standards and assist the Sales team with CRM administration as required.
  • Assist in coordinating sales operations and provide input into the annual Sales and Marketing Plan.

This is a Full-Time salaried role with occasional weekend and evening work required. The Sales Executive reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing The successful candidate will have a willingness to be actively involved in all aspects of the hotel operation.
