Job Description - Sales Manager - Events Commercial & Sales · Palmerston North

THE ROLE:

At NZME (New Zealand Media and Entertainment), we believe events play an important role in driving economic growth, bringing communities together, and providing enriching experiences and memories.

We’re looking for a superstar sales leader to join the team and drive exhibitor site sales into our Women's Lifestyle Expos and Home & Lifestyle Shows. As Sales Manager, you’ll be confident in leading our sales team, taking full responsibility for developing and implementing successful strategies that support the team in achieving individual and team sales targets.

You’ll also be attending events around the country, so you can be part of it all coming to life and engage face-to-face with our valued clients. We take pride in our team culture and welcome those who have a positive outlook, work collaboratively, bring solutions to the table and are eager to muck-in.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leadership: Lead by example, motivating others and supporting the vision of a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
  • Sales performance: Drive a high performance culture, establishing best-practise frameworks and systems to drive success.
  • Sales strategy: Develop and deliver annual strategic sales plans that motivates the sales team to strive for excellence.
  • Stakeholder management, networking and relationship building: Bring a network of contacts, have high customer service expectations, maintain excellent internal and external relationships.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Senior level sales experience, ideally within the events industry, with skills in meeting revenue targets and cultivating new revenue opportunities.
  • Proven leadership ability to manage a high-performing sales team. Passion to be a culture-driven leader.
  • Confident using technology and the ability to navigate new systems. Excellent Microsoft Office Suite skills.
  • Strong fiscal acumen; forecasting, reporting and target setting.
  • Highly organised and very efficient; you enjoy working at a fast pace, juggling multiple tasks with high level of attention to detail.
  • You’ll be an effective communicator and networker who can quickly develop rapport with all people.
  • Resilient and able to adapt to change in a positive manner.
  • You actively identify issues early and provide a solutions-based approach to solving problems.
