Job Description - Sales Manager Pharmaceuticals - NZ

SALES MANAGER PHARMACEUTICALS NZ – 

The Role: 

Building on our excellent growth track record in New Zealand, and the acquisition of new products, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced NZ based Pharmaceutical Sales Manager to join our organisation.   This is a new role to support our growth in the NZ market. 

You will be a proven pharmaceutical sales leader who has a track record of driving revenue growth, margin and market share.   You will enjoy leading, coaching, and developing our nationally based, experienced Pharmaceutical Territory Managers to deliver an exceptional level of service to meet the needs of our customer base. As we continue to launch new products into the market, you will also excel at identifying business development opportunities and driving sales strategies. 

What we are looking for:

An energetic, driven, and successful Pharmaceutical Sales Manager who is excited about being an integral part of growing our market share and brand presence in New Zealand.  You will be an outstanding people leader and coach and a collaborative team player.  Reporting directly to our Head of Sales – NZ, you will: 

  • Lead in-field sales strategy planning & execution, create and regularly report on sales performance, forecasting, field force T&E budgets and key account plans for the team
  • Build and maintain professional relationships with key accounts and suppliers, negotiate and evaluate contracts and regularly review performance 
  • Provide exceptional leadership and coaching, to build a high performing, highly engaged sales team who consistently meet or exceed territory sales budgets and customer service targets   
  • Be credible and a great relationship builder to enable you to influence key stakeholders internally and externally and to network at senior levels so that you identify further business development opportunities to grow market share
  • Be an effective collaborative team player and enjoy helping and supporting other teams to drive success for Pharmaco.

What you will bring: 

  • At least 2 years’ proven experience and success as a Sales Manager in the Pharmaceutical sector with a customer network throughout NZ. 
  • Proven expertise in developing sales execution plans/ tactics, and developing account management plans which consistently deliver targets and results. 
  • An exceptional ability to coach, develop, mentor and motivate a geographically dispersed sales team to deliver results. 
  • A track record of delivering sales results as demonstrated by the achievement of sales targets and budgets and a proven ability to identify sales and new business opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen and commercial judgement, along with excellent analytical and strategic thinking skills and demonstrated ability to develop and implement sales strategy, strategic and tactical account management plans.
  • Highly developed and effective communication skills – verbal and written and the ability to present well and credibly to a broad spectrum of key stakeholders.
  • Outstanding relationship building skills – experienced, confident, and credible at building strong relationships both internally and externally at all levels of organisations, collaborating effectively with all stakeholders.
  • An effective team player – collaborative approach and able to work in a matrix structure.
  • Good technological skills including the ability to embrace and effectively utilise technology, analyse data and to run our CRM system.
  • Available and happy to travel regularly throughout NZ(and overseas if required). 
  • In addition, you must have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
