Job Description - Sales Manager - Whangarei

Role Type: Permanent, Full-Time


Location: Whangarei



About The Role


In this Sales Manager role, you will drive sales growth and strategy across a broad territory, encompassing Whangarei and the wider Northland region. You will play a key role in the development of customer-centric strategies that support our overall business objectives and embody our purpose of always moving forward.



In this role, you would have the opportunity to:



  • Use your astute sales acumen to drive new business development across the Northland region, contributing to increased market share.

  • Lead and mentor two Account Managers in the Whangarei branch, offering guidance and support in their professional development.

  • Travel throughout your assigned region, using a company vehicle, and maintain a regular call/visit cycle with key account holders in a wide variety of industries.

  • Provide input into setting of sales plans and budgets to drive year-on-year growth in annual sales while meeting quality objectives.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key customers, suppliers, and distributors supporting mutually beneficial relationships over the long term.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service that aligns with our vision of being New Zealand’s most valued lubricants company.

  • Champion TotalEnergies NZ’s strategic vision, ensuring that your team and colleagues are aligned with TENZ’s strategic goals.



What You Bring to the Table 


Our ideal candidate will
be skilled at building solid, longstanding relationships and will easily relate to a wide variety of people - from workshop managers to CEO's. Your communication skills, time management and call planning will be top notch and you will have a passion for providing exceptional service to our customers.



In addition to the above, we are looking for a candidate with:



  • Proven experience in a senior sales role, ideally with leadership responsibility, in a similar or related industry.

  • A proactive “go-getter” attitude and a passion for exploring new business opportunities to help grow the business.

  • Familiarity with CRM tools, with an eagerness to use these to optimise the quality and efficiency of your work.

  • Resilience, a “can do” attitude, and the ability to influence customer interactions into positive opportunities.

  • A customer advocacy mindset, with a strong focus on customer retention and growth.

  • The ability to collaborate effectively with a team, and to work with a high degree of autonomy.
