Sales Operations Lead North America

We're looking for a commercially savvy Sales Operations Lead - North America to join our Sales team based in Dunedin.

This role is responsible for supporting day-to-day sales execution and broader sales strategy across the North American market. Acting as the key link between our in-market teams and New Zealand operations, you'll help drive our market-led strategy, deliver outstanding customer outcomes, and maximise value across the sales and supply chain journey. 

You'll work closely with customers, in-market teams, production planning, logistics, plant leadership, and category managers to ensure market requirements are met while supporting revenue growth, customer satisfaction, and strategic business objectives.

Te Mahi / Key Responsibilities

Sales & Commercial Performance

• Support the execution of sales strategies across the North American market.
• Sell and trade chilled and frozen meat products to achieve revenue and margin objectives.
• Analyse pricing structures and gross margins to support commercial performance.
• Negotiate commercial outcomes that maximise value while maintaining strong customer relationships.
• Support the achievement of market growth and profitability targets. 

Customer & Market Management

• Deliver exceptional service to customers and in-market sales teams.
• Maintain regular communication regarding orders, quotations, claims, and market requirements.
• Develop and sustain strong customer relationships that support long-term growth.
• Proactively manage customer feedback and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner.
• Act as a champion for Silver Fern Farms within the marketplace.

Operational Coordination

• Serve as the key conduit between North American markets and the wider New Zealand business.
• Manage day-to-day supply chain activities to ensure customer and market needs are met.
• Work closely with production scheduling, logistics, and operational teams to support delivery performance.
• Ensure clear and effective communication across the business.
• Monitor performance and adjust plans to achieve desired outcomes. 

Strategy & Continuous Improvement

• Support the planning and execution of market and customer strategies.
• Contribute insights that support new product development, innovation, and tactical marketing initiatives.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, productivity, and customer outcomes.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support strategic projects and business improvement initiatives.
• Share market knowledge and contribute to the team's understanding of the Silver Fern Farms value proposition.

You'll bring:

• Proven commercial experience within a sales, trading, account management, or customer-focused role.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to balance customer needs with business objectives.
• Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience developing and executing market or customer growth strategies.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing abilities.
• Highly developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality outcomes.
• The ability to build strong internal and external networks. 

Experience within the red meat, food production, agriculture, FMCG or export sectors would be highly advantageous, although we are equally interested in commercially minded professionals who can bring transferable skills and a customer-first mindset.
