Sawmill Labourer / Grader -> Opportunity for the right candidate to move into Supervisor role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Sawmill Labourer to join a busy sawmill team. This is a long-term opportunity with ongoing training and the potential to move into a supervisor role.

This role involves physically demanding and repetitive work. You will be on your feet for the entire shift, working either outdoors or in a covered shed environment.

What’s On Offer:

• $25.00–$25.50 per hour + 8% holiday pay (higher earning potential for supervisor)
  


• Monday to Friday work with 6am starts
  


• Temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate
  


• ASAP start
  


• Training provided across multiple areas of the sawmill
  


• The right candidate will be trained to move into a leadership / supervisory role
  
  

What We’re Looking For:

• Need to have the right mindset and be able to take on responsibility in the future
  


• Comfortable with repetitive physical work & being on your feet the whole shift
  


• Physically fit and capable of heavy lifting
  


• Able to work independently and within a team
  


• Reliable candidates with own transport (no public transport access)
  


• Able to pass a drug test and MOJ check
  


• Right to work in New Zealand
  
  

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting on the green table by stacking timber onto pallets
  


• Working and communicating across multiple stations within the sawmill
  


• Learning sawmill and machine operations
  


• General labouring and production support duties
  


• Maintaining a clean and tidy work environment, including general housekeeping and cleanup duties
  


• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times to ensure a safe working environment
  
  

Suitable backgrounds include but are not limited to:

• Sawmills or woodworking industries (e.g. Frame & Truss)
  


• Manufacturing
  


• Machine operation
  


• Warehousing
  


• General labouring
  


• Food processing (e.g. knife hand)
  


• Farming / fruit picking
