Westland Milk Products, born on the beautifully raw West Coast of New Zealand's South Island enjoys an excellent international reputation and embodies the West Coast spirit in all that it does. We process over 700 million litres of milk a year and produce a wide range of consumer and foodservice products, and dairy ingredients. 

About the role:  

Based in our Christchurch (Hornby) Office and reporting to our Head of Marketing, we're looking for a dynamic and creative Senior Brand Manager to join our Sales & Marketing team to provide cover for a 10-month period of parental leave.

Supported by and leading an Assistant Brand Manager, the Senior Brand Manager is accountable for the marketing of our Westgold brand in its entirety, from market research and development, strategy, and tactical execution, through to consumer purchase. More specifically the role oversees the marketing and advertising strategies and supports the effective distribution of the products; whilst also being the key source of information on the brand's performance and key competitor products across all current & future global markets.

With responsibility for the overall success of the brand, the Senior Brand Manager will work collaboratively within Westland's wider Sales & Marketing team, working to positively influence a premium consumer brand experience and helping to maximise margin performance and sales value growth through successful marketing activities and brand positioning.

Applicants will ideally possess:

• A tertiary qualification in marketing - or a related discipline
• Proven experience in a related marketing role, preferably within FMCG / dairy etc.
• Prior proven experience in a Brand Management role
• A good understanding of marketing, advertising and sales and the ability to demonstrate sound marketing ROI
• Well-developed commercial acumen and strong analytical skills, along with the ability to understand and interpret data related to the industry, channels, products and categories
• Excellent communication, influencing and relationship management skills
• A collaborative, creative and innovative approach
• Knowledge of and experience with AC Nielsen's data analysis tool would be beneficial
• Previous international marketing exposure and market experience would be a distinct advantage
