We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our Assisted Experience tīma within Colleague Digital. This is a chance to work on a strategically important platform that will transform the way our Bankers serve customers.

This role can be based in Wellington or Auckland. It is a hybrid role with Tuesday, Thursday and Friday in the office.

You’ll be joining a Technology tīma that is on a mission to reimagine banker experience and platforms to brilliantly serve customers. Our focus is on unifying and simplifying the colleague experience, making our bankers’ lives easier through modern, intuitive and resilient technology.

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll join one of our Assisted Experience teams, working on the delivery of a new banker-facing platform that enables colleagues to view and maintain customer details and products. This experience brings the same quality and ease our customers enjoy in our award‑winning Internet and Mobile Banking, directly to our colleagues.

What are day-to-day tasks the person in this role will complete?

As a Senior Business Analyst, you’ll play a key role in connecting the dots between people, process, and technology. Your days will include things like:

• Maintain and refine a backlog of user stories, ensuring sufficient runway for a fast-paced delivery team.
• Elicit, analyse and document business and technical requirements, acting as a bridge between business outcomes, user needs, and technical solutions.
• Translate complex technical concepts and documentation (including APIs) into clear, user-friendly language.
• Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders across technology and the wider business.
• Use research, analytics and evidence-based insights to support prioritisation and delivery of enhancements, fixes and new functionality.
• Contribute to and support effective planning and implementation.

What technical skills are required for this role?

As an experienced Business Analyst who’s comfortable working in complex technology environments and thrives on collaboration, you bring both structure and curiosity to your work, and you’re always looking for better ways to solve problems. You’ll also bring:

• The ability to quickly understand technical systems, documentation and API specifications.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for a range of audiences.
• A collaborative, team-oriented approach and a genuine enjoyment of working with others.
• A proactive, curious mindset — you enjoy asking questions, exploring problems and finding better ways of working.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, supported by user research, data and evidence.
• The ability to prioritise effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment and the confidence to ask for help when needed.

What is the team culture and environment like?

The team is very open, supportive and collaborative. We constantly look to improve our ways of working so we can work as efficiently as possible, but we also enjoy having a laugh and a bit of fun while working alongside one another.

What is your management style? 

You’ll report into me (the Platform Owner) as your People Leader. I am highly collaborative and consultative — someone who sets direction, values your input, and supports you to work independently, while still rolling up my sleeves alongside you when it counts.
