Senior Business Analyst

The opportunity

If you've spent years as a Business Analyst in complex organisations know your way around technical and process work then read on. 

Chubb Life is aiming to be New Zealand's number one life insurer, and better processes and systems are a big part of getting there. As Senior Business Analyst, reporting to the Business Analysis Lead, you'll work across several projects at once, from mapping how a process really runs to writing the technical requirements behind the fix.

We're a lean team. Nobody hands you a stakeholder map or tidy requirements. You start the conversations, find your way around and make things happen.

What you’ll own

• Mapping processes and customer journeys to find what needs fixing
• Eliciting requirements and turning them into solutions that work
• Defining the MVP with detailed acceptance criteria
• Leading project work in an agile, multi discipline team
• Running stand ups, story writing, sprint planning and retros
• Agreeing priorities with stakeholders at every level

• Lead requirement elicitation workshops and capture detailed functional and non‑functional specifications.
• Translate business objectives into clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with the Product Owner to maintain and prioritise the product backlog.
• Facilitate cross‑functional communication between business units, IT, and external partners.
• Conduct impact analysis, risk assessments, and feasibility studies for proposed changes.
• Ensure solutions comply with New Zealand insurance regulations and Chubb governance frameworks.
• Support sprint planning, review, and retrospective activities within an Agile environment.
• Develop and maintain documentation, including process maps, data models, and test plans.
• Monitor delivery performance, track key metrics, and report progress to senior leadership.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to continuous improvement of analysis practices.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years as a Business Analyst
• Financial services experience, whether insurance, banking or finance
• Experience in a global matrix organisation
• Strong process analysis and technical BA skills
• A track record across multiple projects in a large, complex organisation
• Confidence to influence senior leaders and people you don't manage
• Agile experience and fluency using AI in your daily work
